  • Errolyn went outside, which she’s not supposed to do on Sunday, and was trying to jump off a chair onto the tree swing.  Hmmm…. I think you know where this story is going.  Anyway, the next thing we know she is lying on the cement outside screaming.  Luckily she just scraped her upper leg and bruised her hip/ bottom area pretty good.  But, she is miserable and lying on the couch.  I played a recording of “Puff the Magic Dragon” to cheer her up, since that’s what my Dad used to play for me… only with his guitar and not a recording.  Then I found a gem of a recording from Peter, Paul, and Mary of “The Marvelous Toy.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIl8JMkPylM  I didn’t realize they are so funny.  Anyway, I love this song because of my Dad.

Errolyn’s tragedy reminds me of when I was a kid and we lived with the Lewis family.  I knew I wasn’t supposed to watch TV on Sunday, but I turned it on and watched the circus without my parents knowing.  Well, I wanted to be a tight rope walker and tied a jump rope to the top of my bunk bed and told my sister Janet to hold the other end.  (Yes, you know where this story is going too.)  I took a step off of the bunk bed and didn’t even step onto the rope but missed it completely and fell onto a desk and onto the floor.  I remember having a huge gash in my leg.  I decided I would never watch TV on Sunday again since that must have been the cause of my tragedy.  Lol.  And Errolyn says she will never play outside on Sunday again.

  • The Peter, Paul, and Mary station on pandora is pretty awesome.  You can’t help but think of dad.  Glad Erroyln is ok.  We got the package and will deliver the gifts this week.

  • I have never seen that version of the song before. It is way cute. Glad you found it. Love you.

  • That version of the song was wonderful! Forgive me, but I laughed hysterically at the way you described getting ready to walk the tight rope walk. I’m glad you survived.
