I decided, after looking on Craigslist for several days and going to piano stores, that it isn't worth buying a new piano right now. I really want a Baby Grande, but we don't have room in this house and I don't want to waste money on a cheap piano that isn't much better than the one we have now. So, since we may move in a year (because Cameron's best friend and the only other deacon in our ward is moving, and the older boys are not nice and we want him to have good church friends and good experiences at YM, and we'll have been in our house for 5 1/2 years by then) I've decided to try and fix this piano and deal with it until I have a big enough house for a Baby Grande (which there are always several on Craigslist for great prices).
I was almost ready to call a piano repairman, but this piano really isn't worth spending money on. So, I watched a Youtube videos on how to fix pianos and decided I could do it. So, I took apart my piano, including all of the piano keys, and oh my goodness the dust and junk I found in there. There were puzzle pieces, a crayon, pieces of Valentine cards that looked like they were from the 20's or 30's (my piano is from 1912), stickers, and lots and lots of coins. Logan claimed all of the coins we found in the piano and ended up with $1.89. Wow, that's a lot of coins for a piano! The hard key to push had 4 pennies under it, a penny and a quarter in between to the left, and 3 dimes in between to the right. One of the "broken" keys had a mini flashlight wedged in between the hammer and string. One broken key had a ripped in half cord (a bridle strap I have now learned) that attached to the hammer. On one key, the hammer was completely broken off. So, I read online how to fix everything, I have some glue drying overnight, and hopefully everything will work well in the morning! I feel so good that I was able to figure everything out!! (Mike did help me with the gluing at the end, but he was totally shocked when he came home from work and the piano was laying all over the room.)

You should have taken pictures. They would have been worth seeing. That's a lot of work. You have definitely inherited my "cheap" gene. I wonder if they have online piano tuning programs. Love you.
@lomal - Yes, I should have taken pictures. IT WORKS!!
lol, I can picture the piano. I can't believe you want to move already. I hope our next house will be THE house for 20+years. I hate moving.
@depecheroni - I wish our next move was THE house... but we can't afford the place I feel we need to end up. We were planning on staying in this house until we could afford THE house, but IF we do move in a year, it will be strictly for Cameron and Errolyn's benefit and it won't be our final house. But, yes, I hate moving!
I told the people on our planning team about you fixing the piano and they were all very impressed. Love you.
